I'm not sure what's going on, but it's all bums, and drug addicts.... it seems to be more of a transient location. nothing worked in the room, a very rude staff, and all these strange people milling around all night.... Dont stay here unless you have no other choice. Plenty of other hotels in the Vandy area.

We stayed here once before (previous review posted) and the first time around the only complaint I had was that the beds are not the most comfortable. This time they were worse. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend and the rate was great. They also (unlike most of the hotels around them) were not booked up,we found out why AFTER we checked in and discovered that they gave their cleaning staff the day off on the 4th. There was no maid service, and when we called to get clean towels the guy initially gave us attitude saying that he was understaffed and could we please come get them at the front desk! The worst was waking up in the middle of the night with a screaming headache from their awful pillows. We ended up at a linen store the next day buying a pillow to get me through the rest of the weekend. Actually, the worst part was that I suggested this hotel to our friends who also came in from out of town. Next time I'll just pay more or stay further from downtown. It's just not worth it for those beds and then no maid service on top of that. We won't stay there again.

We typically stay at the Hampton Inn on West End when we visit Nashville as it is conveinent to the places we visit while we are there. This trip, I waited too long to reserve a room and they were booked. After much searching we finally decided on GuestHouse and hoped for the best but expected the worst.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The lobby was obviously just being finished after undergoing some renovations. I asked if it was just hte lobby or had the rooms also been renovated and they had been. Tip: If you have baggage to unload, pull to the front door and unload it there when you check in and before you park your car. There is no elevator in the parking garage which could make dealing with baggage a huge pain in the butt.

The rooms were very nice. The bathrooms were roomy and they had a small kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave. Quite a deal for the price IMO. Unfortunately, for us, one of my biggest issues is the bed. It was hard as a rock. On initial review I would have said we'd choose staying there over staying at the Hampton when we returned but after sleeping on that bed for a night, the Guesthouse has been resigned to our backup option.

I decided to come to Nashville for my reunion semi last minute & this was the best location that was available. Old, tired hotel that was being renovated, but the upgrades did not look too promising. Parking gargage next door did not have an elevator for the upper floors.
